Capturing Lives as seen ...

One of my todo list for this year is to go out on sunday's cycling with my cam to capture the lives of people doing some activity which is going to be real.  As an example when i step out of my home i go get to see lot of people doing there jobs and i always wanted to capture it as i see.  So, for this year i want to make this happen.  Soon you will se pictures as i capture them.

January just Vanished!!

Ufffff!

I just cant believe that Jan is gone.  Though it has been an amazing month with lots of good things happening, I'm feeling good when i recall how January just flew by.

Got a day off on Tuesday and watched the American Hustle movie along with my better-half.  Brilliant acting by Christian Bale just loved the movie.  I would definitely recommend this movie.

Just did a signup for my first meetup which is gonna happen on 22nd Feb.  Its all about android and apps.  I will be looking forward for this meet and hope that i will bring back a lot after the meetup.

February is going to be another fun month.  Planning big things for this month.

Oomph is back

In today's world there is lot of uncertainty.  Each day you have a new challenge and it's just unpredictable.

Feeling Awesome

Huh! What a week it has been.

Was able to do fitness for 5 days.  Started with cycling to work on monday and wednesday.  Had a splendid dinner on the festive(Sankranthi) day(tuesday).

then swimming and soccer.  Had a nice time with chikku and V as well.    Come sunday and the breakfast @ Sheraton was just like an icing on the cake.

Looking forward for another awesome week. As I'm writing this a thought is wandering inside me ;) should I ?

Recently i have been observing my little daughter and she takes out time to keep a journal entry in a dairy which she has(thought its not online she has to write it down literally without any auto-correct) and she does it so nice and tidy I was wondering after getting addicted to the micro-blogging site (which again i have not be using it extensively @vivekhs ) why can't do it?

And today i read this Quote:

So, i thought let me re-start 'caus its always feels good to start sometime fresh/new and i definitely know its going to be "Hardest" but let me not sit back and cry later ;) what say ?

Great Malnad Challenge (GMC) 2013

Earlier i had mentioned that by doing brevet 200k i had raised the bar for myself( http://bit.ly/1cHipGf ).  This time i thought of pushing my limits and decided to go for GMC(Great Malnad Challenge).  And i want to say that i have successfully completed it.

Its a 9 day cycling event in the mist of the western ghats in karnataka, India with the wildest terrain and highest peaks.

200k Brevet ride

I have raised the bar for myself.  Successfully completed my second run for the 200k brevet ride look for the jersey no. B-1030 this is gonna stay with me as long as i'm associated with BBC(Bangalore Bikers Club)

I would next target for a 300K brevet ride.

Net::SSH::Perl vs Net::OpenSSH Which one is better?

I had a tough time to get over the ssh connetion using perl programming.  I did visit lot of forums and googling .. but in vein.

Not even one since post mentioned about how to get this working and how to make it work.  Hence i thought i shall post this so that someone like me who is having the same issue can read and know how to make it work.

Below is the error you see when to first install "Net::SSH::Perl" :

Now, to get rid of this you need to either keep installing all the dependencies and swim in that with errors and issues or use "Net::OpenSSH"

Net::OpenSSH is a simple implementation and still you can get the job done.  Now, what i did in my setup is that i first made a passwordless setup across the machines(which was a mix of HPUX, Linux(RH5,6 & SUSE).  Implemented the perl program to communicate between these machines to get the job done using OpenSSH.  Bingo! it works like a charm now.

So, what u need to do is, just get the module "Net::OpenSSH" here and keep going.

Recently one of my friend who works to bring up three loop holes in the government system functioning and also use RTI act to get it done was traveling along with me and other friends of mine.
As we were discussing lot of things that are happening in today's world we did touch upon the latest movies and their review's.
One of the guy traveling along with said he had a pirated copy of the latest Hindi movie and before anyone asked, this friend of mine asked him to copy over it to his laptop so that he could watch it at a later time.
I was shocked to know that the person who preaches and tell's people not to bribe and not to break the rules was insisting to copy over the pirated copy of the movie ?
Oh my god ......

Auto / Rick / Tuk Tuk Ride made better in Bangalore (An Idea)

Wherever i go one common problem that i have been observing from both non-IT and IT people(when i say non-IT its covers all categories who use rick as there mode of transport) is that they are always frustrated / complaining about taking a rick to the destination they want.

Most of the time everyone feels that the meters are tampered the driver's take a longer route or try to cheat them by being rude with the passengers. Especially when i see women with children who have to deal with such driver's is really hard. Though most of the time none of us are of any help and the government has never tried to venture out here to solve the problem.

While this thought was always going on in my mind there were few idea's/solution which came to my mind:

1. Stage a dharna against the rick's and take help from government to curb the tampering and put some policies in place. But, if you remember sometime back the government did try the driver's license display plate and it did not yeild much results. And we(the commuters) are still having the same issue.

2. Introduce a new system (hardware + software) to curb the issue. Lets call the name of the company as XYZ.

Generally once you board a rick the first thought that comes on your mind is "I hope this meter is not tampered"

How it works:

• XYZ shall provide a separate digital display device for the rick's which agree to install them on their vehicles.
• These devices will have a gps receiver and map's installed on them. This way i know exactly how much distance has been traveled.
• Whoever installs these devices will not have to spend money for the paint/decals/seat covers/tops. ( They will be sponsored by the XYZ company)
• Another typical problem faced is if you tell the driver to drive a little interior from the main road he start cribbing that he will not get new customers once he drops you). To solve this issue, GIS mapping of most of the prominent Auto Stand will be marked on the maps installed on the device and regular updates will be done for these stands, and a minimal extra will be added to the fare based on how far he is from the nearest Auto Stand. That way he doesnt have to worry of driving into the interior road or crib @ you. Both the passenger and the driver are happy.
• If the device display is of 800 x 480 pixel then i can also play Ad's/Video's/News/Bla bla since for fare display i will not use the entire 800 x 480. It will be a touch based app and will be having a 2 layered security so that its just next to impossible to hack it.
• As and when the customer's complete there rides they can leave feedback on the touch screen ( as simple as Good :) / Bad :( ). Also a Small LED Display on the roof the rick is made available which shows Total rides - Next time you wave a hand to board a rick before he stops you would have decided wether to board this rick or not. So, you know whether you need to board or wait for another rick with a better LED scores.
• This can also be interfaced with a cloud to book a pickup/drop schedule.

Lazy Sunday

Frankly, this sunday was a lazy sunday.

While, I'm making up my mind to get ready for manic Monday, had to step out over the evening for a little shopping (don't get blown), my daughter was wanting to buy the tommy t-shirt so had to get that done for this week and also V wanted to get some jewellery.

Started the day with some little bit of thinking activity, game which me and my daugter played, soon after that had lunch and dozed off.

Hoping to see my dream come true before end of this month.

Feb Is Gone

So are a few of my worries ...

Watched Aptharakshaka, last one of Dr. Vishnu. Not that appealing as the first one, but in the second half his acting as king has come out very well.

Also watched "Rann", after watching it I feel should we really believe the media or not? Anyways these days news channels are the most entertaining channels where in each one would caught hold of a story and repeat (or may be they run it as a cron job ?) It may be some 10000 times.

Feeling sleepy I can't miss the train tomorrow GN ;-)
