Rafting for the Second Time !!!

After a long haul over the team outing we finally made it over the last weekend to Coorg.

Our main idea for stream outing was for river rafting and only river rafting. So accordingly we had planned to go to dandeli for river rafting on kali river but then there were lot of constraints regarding travel, places of visit etc., since the distance was far off. I did some little research and said it would be tough to go over the weekend, we need at least a day extra(if it rains) to make it to dandeli and if our intentions are mainly focused on river rafting.

So on Friday we chalked out the plan and decided that we shall visit nisargadhama, Dubare forest, Tibet Colony, Abby Falls, Talakavere and a few places in madikere[also called as "Scotland of India"](local city) but river rafting was ruled out since we had heard that the there are heavy rains over the last week at madikere.

Saturday
==========
We all (five) were suppose to start from my office at 6 AM Sharp, but then due to some reasons we all started from my home at around 7:30 AM after a nice cup of coffee from my loved one[thank you] also there was a mail from one of my team member which read "Please be at office a 6 am sharp dont take it 4 granted like our normal meetings"

We had a stopover at Janapada loka(Kamat) for breakfast and

continued our journey further towards madikere. After crossing hunsur all of us knew that we were on track for the execution of our coorg trip so we took a tea break.

At noon we were at nisargadhama. The weather was pleasant and the rains had stopped and the clouds were clear. We got down at nisargadhama and went around the place enjoying the greenery, cool breeze and the bamboo trees around. There is also a deer park.

Though is started drizzling, but after a few minutes it stopped and we all felt that we are lucky to be here.

From there we started going towards Dubare Forest

thinking that we shall go for a Elephant ride over there, but after reaching there things turned out differently. We got to know over there that the elephant ride is only from 8 AM to 1 PM, but we had reached around 2:30 PM all of us felt sad for a moment but then we thought okay we shall come tomorrow over here, but then all of a sudden a man approaches and introduces himself as chengappa[his contact no. +91-9902638865] and asks us "Are you guys interested in River Rafting ?", immediately i asked him "Are you sure we can go rafting now ?" and he replied "Yes." i was holding my breath and said him please give me sometime and i shall get back to you. Then i came back and asked my everyone were they ready (though this was the second time i had been there i knew it would be exciting) initially everyone was not willing to go, but then since i had already been here once i said its gonna be a lifetime one and i am sure we all are going to enjoy and finally everyone agreed to go. We finished our lunch and got ready for rafting.

The rapids over here are of 2-3 and we hit around 9. It was one fantastic experience we had during rafting, when we were doing the down stream it started drizzling and it was an awesome experience, we started at 4 and reached the down stream around 6:00. It was two hours of pure fun and sometime the adrenaline pumping high !!!! Once we reached the down spread a jeep was waiting for us to take us back to the place where we had started and we had to put the raft back to the jeep.

From there we went straight to the "Golden Temple" 60 foot statues are present there and India’s biggest Tibetan monastery.

It was almost 9PM and all of us were tired due to the 12 km stretch rafting. We went straight to madikere where we had already booked a room.

Sunday
=======
Since all of us were tired, especially me and satish we got us late at 11 AM by them others had already finished there breakfast, so we both decided to take a rick and venture out in the city. We enquired the local people there and found that there is a nice veg restaurant were the breakfast servered is good, so we went straight there and hogged and returned to the hotel.

The morning view from the suite room where we stayed was splendiod !!!!

We checked out from the hotel at around 12 noon and went straight to "Raja Seat". Spent some good amount of time over there and then we visited the local market and brought coffee and other stuff.

From here we headed towards "Abbey Falls". Due to monsoon the falls was full and it was something like milk spilling out from the falls. Also we had decided that we shall visit East End Hotel which is a renovated bungalow from the British period. But the restaurant was closed, since there lunch timings was up to 3 PM.(Also one more thing to make a note of if you are planning to visit madikere is breakfast gets closed in most of the restaurant at 11 AM, lunch get closed at 3 PM and dinner gets closed at 10 PM)

So we started back to Bangalore and decided to have lunch at kushalnagar. After a heavy lunch we started back to Bangalore will all the memories and experiences.....
